VIN Checksum Validation

This form performs VIN checksum validation by performing a weighted calculation based on the 17 digits in the VIN, and comparing the result to the check (9th) digit.

This validation is not intended to provide any information about the vehicle manufacturer or model, nor to substantiate the existence of the given PIN number, but merely to verify at a high level that the VIN conforms to the standard checksum algorithm. For example, one can enter all 8's for the VIN number, and the checksum validation will pass, although I doubt that this particular VIN actually exists.
